PTA

Clifton Primary School has a very active PTA and welcomes new members to the committee or extra volunteers to help at events.

Christmas Wreath Making Night

As a break for the festive frenzy parents and staff gathered on 1st December to make their own festive wreaths.  Everyone was delighted with their finished wreaths which are now gracing a number of front doors in Clifton and beyond. Keep an eye open for them and come join in the fun next year.

THANKYOU

A BIG thankyou to our hard working PTA committee who raised over £1200 this festive season with a family bingo night, the stall at the Winter Droving in Penrith and our annual Christmas Fair. Thanks also to all those who supported the events – we can now plan lots more exciting and educational events for the children at Clifton School.

PTA AGM

The PTA met for their AGM on Monday 19th September – thanks to all those who attended. After three year as Chairperson Nicola Stevenson stood down from the role but will stay on the committee. We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to Nicola for her enthusiasm and dedication and greatly appreciate all that you have done for us at Clifton School. We would also like to say thank you to Heidi Little for stepping into the role with relatively little persuasion needed!

We would also like to thank Rachel Johnson for her work as Secretary and Suzanne Hind for taking on this role. Final thanks go to Gill Graham and Holly Threlkeld who will remain in their posts of Treasurer and Vice Chair. We are so grateful for all your hard work in helping Clifton School in so many ways.
Clifton School PTA is a small hardworking group of parents who work together to raise money, organise events and support activities in school. New members are always welcome ( and you can rest easy now all the officers are sorted for another year).
The next meeting will be on Monday 3rd October at 7pm in the school.
You can commit to as much or as little as you want and it is a great way to get to know people. We hope to see you there!

Summer Fair

Our annual summer fair was once again blessed with lovely summer weather on Saturday 16th July. This year’s was bigger and better than ever with a Rio carnival theme. The Fair was opened by a samba style fancy dress parade lead by one of our musical parents. Visitors were entertained throughout the afternoon with music from Squeeze Box and by dances performed by Classes 1 and 2. The bouncy castle, face painting and bungee run were popular activities and the barbeque kept guests well fed. Thanks to a record number of donated prizes the tombola remained a great attraction throughout the afternoon. Thanks to all who organised and attended the summer fair – we hope you agree it was a great afternoon.

Wreath Workshop

Parents, staff and friends enjoyed a sociable and relaxing evening on December 2nd making festive foliage creations to decorate their doors.

Christmas Fair

A massive thank you to everyone who helped and supported our Christmas Fair this year. We raised a massive £917.87!

Plans are under way to develop the small wooded area below the playground and i.pads for children’s use are being purchased soon –  all funds raised are most welcome!

100 CLUB

Please consider joining our 100 Club for the coming year. Numbers in our monthly draw can be purchased for £12 a year.  Monthly prizes are £30, £15 and £5 with no draw in August and a double draw in December. Contact Jill in the office or Gill Graham to join.

Well done to everyone who took part! You raised a magnificent amount of money for the new reading lofts in school.

Summer Fayre – Saturday 11th July

The Summer Fayre was once again blessed by lovely weather and was a great success – raising £1061 for school funds.

Disco at Clifton Village Hall – March 12th 2015

The PTA also support the school in providing voluntary help with a huge range of tasks including providing refreshments at events, making costumes and scenery for performances and with the construction of our new garden area.

And on the last day of term the compost and woodchips arrived. Children from Classes 1 and 3 worked hard throughout the afternoon with a few kind mums who gave up their time. Well done children and thankyou Holly and Jo!  You did a great job!

The money raised by the PTA is of invaluable benefit to the children at our school. They fund transport and admission costs for school trips and travel to sports events and recently funded the equipment for the newly built outdoor shelter.

If you are interested in helping with the PTA please speak to a member of the committee.
